The company was founded in 1898 by Gottlieb Gühring. From the beginning, highest quality was of upmost importance and this payed off. A continous program of development followed, interrupted only by world wars and the international economic crisis. In 1945 Guhring had to start again from scratch due to the effects of World War II.

Today, Guhring is one of the largest manufacturers of rotary cutting tools. 2300 staff members are employed in 12 manufacturing plants and 22 sales and marketing companies, supported by competent distributors in all industrialised countries.

Furthermore, Guhring experts are available worldwide to solve the most difficult cutting problems.

Sales are divided up amongst the following industries:

  • Automotive- and aerospace industry
    and their subcontractors
  • Machine production (key word: original tooling)
  • General trade distribution

More than 50 % of our turnover is achieved abroad.
