Advantages

• considerable performance increase compared to conventional drills with indexable inserts (see fig. 2).
• high rigidity because of compact, straight-fluted design, suited for drilling depths 3 × D, 5 × d, 7 × d.
• considerably higher feed rates (see Guroguide) in comparison to conventional drilling tools with indexable inserts thanks to the dual cutting edge design. There is no distribution of the cutting forces to the outer and inner cutting edge.
• excellent hole qualities (see fig. 3) as interchangeable insert has circular lands
• no regrinding and no recoating necessary, as the insert is disposable.
• very economical, because the tool holder is hardly exposed to any wear, unlike the insert.
• for each size of the holder there are different diameters of interchangeable inserts available.

Design features

• the tool holder is available in 3 lengths, for drilling depths of 3 × d, 5 × d and 7 × d. Other lengths are possible on request.
• straight shank acc. to DIN 6535 HE, with whistle notch.
• central coolant supply
• Ratio point grind with F-type web thinning
• setting via a stop screw in tool holder. The clamping screw guarantees accurate, rigid positioning of the interchangeable insert within the tool holder (see fig. 1).
• interchangeable secure, non-reversible insert. The different design of setting and clamping pocket do not permit the insert to be reversed.
